Known as the gateway to the Himalayas, the city of Rishikesh is one of the holiest cities of the country. The city of Rishikesh is a centre of pilgrimage for the Hindu population of the country and is at a stone throw away distance from another holy city; Haridwar. Rishikesh is a point where the great river of the country; the Ganges ascends from the Himalayas and flows out into the plains of the country. There are various temples and other places of worships of the Hindu’s which can be found along side the banks of the river Ganges in Rishikesh and are a major reason for host of pilgrims and tourists coming into the city from all parts of the country as well as the world. the city of Rishikesh is also known as the ‘Yoga Capital of the World’ with various forms of Yoga and Meditation techniques being taught and practiced in different institutes present here.
